Effluent after secondary treatment can be further treated in Multi-grade Filters or Pressure Sand Filters or Activated Carbon Filters for removal of suspended impurities if any, colour, residual chlorine etc. Certain wastewaters may also be treated with peroxide or hypo-chlorite for polishing treatment or disinfection.
